An outstanding Russian historical painter K.P. Brulylov lived in the first half of the XIX century. His creativity, which grew up on the basis of strict classicism, is spiritualized by the charm of romanticism, revives the features of the emerging direction in the art - realism. About an outstanding picture "Last Day Pompeii", which brought the artist world famous, poets francmed poems. In addition to historical paintings, portraits of the artist"s brushes include a set of reproductions - this is another component of his outstanding heritage. He created the gallery of portraits of the Russian intelligentsia of the end of the 1830-1840s, including Vzhukovsky, A. Rogovshchikov, Yu.Samamylov, I. Krylov, A.K. Tolstoy, N.Kolnik and others. Until now, one of the most remarkable and tragic images created by the artist is attracted - his last self-portrait.
