In the historical story of grandfathers widely known in the second half of the XIX century, the Russian writer Vsevolod Vladimirovich Krestovsky describes the time of the board of Paul I. The main idea of the book is to highlight the identity of this emperor, to portray his board is not in the dark paints, to show that the negative parties of Paul have been exaggerated as contemporaries and subsequent historians. The books are brightly outlined by images of representatives of the noble estate - nobles, officers, landowners.
The last chapters are devoted to Generalissimus Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, Italian and Swiss campaigns of Russian troops in 1799 under his command, transition through the Alps Suvorov wonder-heroic.
