The book offered to the attention of readers is not exactly the usual volumetric sketch of the life and activities of Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev. The unusualness is that the book is entirely formed from various interviews, letters, documents, passages from memories, books and articles of Russian and foreign authors (including M.S. Gorbachev himself).
The compilers achieved that the text, despite the mosaic, was read as a whole essay. Gorbachev in life does not duplicate the published works devoted to the individuals, cases and description of the life path of Mikhail Sergeevich. The book only highlights some important moments of his life, captured in statements and memories of contemporaries.
