In the proposed book, Gerald Darrell describes a trip to an extremely rarely visited area of Latin America. With his own humor and artistic skill talks about the entertaining incidents associated with fishing and in captivity of wild animals, reports a lot of interesting details about their habits and lifestyle.
Perhaps you should briefly explain how this book was born. It describes two travels that I, my assistant John Hartley and my secretary Ann Peter was committed to Mauritius"s magic island. I led to two reasons there.
A few years ago, I founded the Gersiy Foundation for the protection of wild animals to save the extinction of the endangered species, spreading them into captivity. Our plans are carried out with great success, but it became clear to me that such animals are best breeding in their homeland. The difficulty here was that the majority of countries that concern does not have people trained by the dedicate cause of animalism. Therefore, the Trust established scholarships for those who wanted to pass the course of study, so that later they establish the breeding of wild animals in captivity. Since the emblem of our zoo is DRONT, it seemed to us that it was logical to start with Mauritius and take the first scholarship from there. So I went to this state to talk with local authorities. At the same time I wanted to see some endangered birds, mammals and reptiles and find out if we can somehow help the Mauritians save these species. Before you a story about what happened from it
