Nikolai Pavlovich Zadornov (1909–1992) was a well-known Soviet writer, author of several novels dedicated to the exploration of Siberia and the Russian Far East by Russian settlers. The novel "Gold Rush" (1969) continues his famous duology "Amur Father". The life of gold miners in the Amur region is portrayed as restless, dangerous, full of difficulties and passions. The reader will learn about the fate of characters he already knows (Yegor Kuznetsov, Duni and Ilya Bormotov, Timokha Silin) and meet new colorful personalities. The action takes place in the second half of the 19th century, and the fate of the vast Russian Empire depends, in part, on what is happening here, on the distant shores of the Amur River...
