The third, final book of the trilogy, dedicated to Gogol"s life, covers the period from 1845 to 1852. Many important events occurred during this period of time: parting with Italy, pilgrimage through the Mediterranean Sea and in the Middle Eastern Lands in Jerusalem, to the coffin of the Lord, the final return - after Almost 12-year stay abroad - to their homeland, meetings in Ukraine, in St. Petersburg and Moscow with many outstanding figures of domestic culture, etc. And the most important thing is to continue working on "dead souls". The book reveals painful, full of tragic stress the story of the second volume of the poem.
