The book "German Image of the World. Germany in Comparison with Russia" continues the series "National Images of the World" by the well-known Russian philosopher, literary critic, and cultural theorist Georgy Dmitrievich Gachev (1929-2008). Applying his method of researching national mentalities, according to which each national integrity appears as Cosmo-Psycho-Logos, i.e. the unity of local nature, national character, and thought structure, the author embarks on an "intellectual journey" to Germany and explores the German image of the world on various levels: from nature, everyday life, language to literature, art, philosophy, religion, natural sciences, and politics. The famous work by Gachev included in the book, "Autumn with Kant," represents an experience of re-reading the philosophical "bible" - the classic work of I. Kant, "Critique of Pure Reason." Gachev compares the cosmos of Germany with the cosmos of Russia, emphasizing that between the two countries there are the most passionate historical and cultural relationships, and it is all the more important to understand their similarities and differences for better mutual understanding.
