Gerard David - the Netherlands Artist of the Northern Renaissance. The first, from those who came to us, are mentioned by 1484 in which he was registered in the guild of the painters of the city of Brugge. In this city, apparently, the main part of the artist"s life was held. It is known that about 1515 Gerard David stayed in Antwerp, where he joined the guild of artists of St. Luke.
