The textbook corresponds to the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education in geography, is intended for students in grades 7 and is included in the textbook line edited by O. A. Klimanova and A. I. Alekseev.
In the textbook, the share of country information is increased, and all countries and territories are considered taking into account the relationship of nature and economy, material and spiritual culture of the population. Predate attention is paid to the countries of Eurasia - the "native mainland" of Russians, Russia is also being considered among the countries of Eurasia.
