The textbook is designed for 6th grade students and is part of the educational program 'Rose of the Winds'. The textbook implements ideas for developing geographical culture, teaching students geographical language, and using various sources of geographical information. Special attention is paid to developing visual-spatial and logical thinking skills in students, fostering cognitive interest in objects and processes of the surrounding world, as well as studying their local area and acquiring skills in applying specific geographical knowledge and abilities in practice. The textbook is developed in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation No. 287 dated May 31, 2021. The state border of the Russian Federation on the maps is shown as of October 2022.
