The geography atlas for the 5th grade (author - O.V. Krylova) has the main goal of instilling an interest in geographical knowledge in students. The content of the atlas is aimed at students acquiring basic knowledge about the Universe and planet Earth, as well as developing their initial cartographic skills: determining the cardinal directions and the relative location of geographical objects, composing elementary geographical descriptions, comparing and classifying. Created according to an original author's methodology in accordance with the "Concept of the Development of Geographic Education in the Russian Federation," the atlas is characterized by the novelty of its content, universality, and focus on developing the creative abilities of students. The atlas meets the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards and has been approved by methodologists. Russia in the atlas is presented with new borders: with the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts, the Republic of Crimea, and Sevastopol.
