The historical novel by Oleg Mikhailov - the author of the most popular books about Suvorov, Derzhavin, Kutuzov, Bunin, Kuprin - is dedicated to one of the most famous heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812, participant of the Battle of Borodino, General Alexey Petrovich Ermolov (1777-1861). The name Ermolov is associated with no less important events in the history of the Russian Empire - the subjugation of the mountain peoples of the Northern Caucasus in 1817-1827.
