The textbook consists of two parts: general psychology and sports psychology. The first part includes the history and theories of psychology, characteristics of mental processes, properties, states, and relationships. The second part provides information on the manifestation of the psyche in the process of sports activities. It presents the history and development of sports psychology in Russia, the current state of scientific psychological knowledge, and its importance in training sports coaches and athletes. Modern scientific information on general and sports psychology as an educational and scientific discipline is presented, expanding the psychological and pedagogical horizons of future specialists in physical education and sports. Prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education. Intended for students studying in the bachelor's degree program "Physical Education," with a specialization in "Sports Training in a Chosen Sport."
