The book tells about the Russian commander of the late XVIII - the beginning of the 19th century - Alexander Petrovich Tormasov, about his life path, about battles and wars in which he participated, about the Patriotic War of 1812 with Napoleon, when he commanded the 3rd Western Army, which Enemies are fray. He was appointed a member of the State Council of Russia. Since 1814, A.P. Tormasov was the Military Governor General of Moscow, then the Commander-in-Chief in Moscow, and to the last of his days, the city was restored and burned by the enemy.
