Gas dynamics of close binary stars

The book summarizes the results of fundamental studies of gas dynamics of substance transfer in close double stars, which are at the stage of mass exchange. Basic information on physics of metabolic processes in close double systems are given. The general principles of numerical simulation are considered and a review of modern numerical methods, which is most frequently used to solve gas-dynamic astrophysical problems. The results of the numerical modeling of gas dynamics of the substance in close double systems without a magnetic field are presented. Changes in the flow pattern caused by the presence of magnetic fields in close dual systems are considered.
