The Garden Ring has been leading its history since 1592, when, after the raid of Moscow, Khaza-Girey, Boris Godunov ordered to create another defensive fortification around the city. The structure was called an earthen or wooden city. However, among Muscovites, the name is more often used - the speed (one year has gone for all construction work) However, over time, with constantly developing military equipment, this object was no longer a serious defensive obstacle to the enemy. After the victory over Napoleon, the shaft was finally wrapped, the moat was bombarded, and the resulting territory was handed out to the nearest homeowners so that they planted “fruit gardens” there. From here came the current name - the garden ring. And already under the Soviet regime, the garden was paved and turned into a wide ring transport highway
