The monograph is devoted to one of the discussion and almost not affected by national historiography the problem - the creation of the Gallic Empire, which existed fifteen years. The crisis of the Roman Empire became one of the reasons for the manifestation of separatism in the provinces in the middle of the III century. The management system that has developed even during the reign of Augustus is outdated and needed indigenous transformations, the economy has undergone severe shocks, and aggravated the positions of frequent invasion of the German tribes. The Gallic empire became one of the attempts to exit the crisis that covered the Roman state. Based on a wide range of sources and research, the author analyzes the reasons for the creation of the Gallic Empire, the political status of this education, its territorial composition, solves the problem of chronology, reveals the main directions of the internal and foreign policy of Gallean emperors. Particular attention is paid to the rule of the first Gallean emperor of the post, the circumstances that contributed to his coming to power, the army and regions, who switched to him. The active internal and foreign policy held by the record contributed to overcoming crisis and stabilization of the situation in the regions included in the Gallic Empire
