Immanuel Kant is the greatest philosopher of Western Europe, one of the leading thinkers of the Enlightenment era, the founder of German classical philosophy, the creator of critical idealism, who made a decisive contribution to the development of the European philosophical tradition. Only a rational being has a will, thanks to which it is capable of acting on principles. And only a rational being, when achieving its desired goal, is capable of being guided by the law of morality. These and many other ideas are discussed in the work "Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals," which served as a prelude to the "Critique of Practical Reason." The collection also includes "Anthropology from a Pragmatic Point of View," Kant's last major work, written based on lecture notes, which presents a systematization of contemporary philosophical knowledge about human beings.
