Fundamentals of Russian Philology: a lecture course

The book provides a review of classic and modern views on the essence of the subject of philology as science and social speech practice. Terms of the word - language - are described from the point of view of the evolution of Russian philological knowledge, and the history of philological sciences in Russia is presented as a consistent review of verbal sciences and literature. The prospect of the development of literature, modern sciences about speech and philological knowledge as a whole is shown. The appendix gives the terminological essays of words philology, literature, rhetoric, eloquence.
