The features of the principles of building relay protection for an intellectual electric network are considered. The results of studies of domestic scientific groups are presented. Separate chapters are devoted to statistical methods for recognizing the regimes and the basics of their applications in the practice of relay protection and automation. The final chapters illustrate the applications of adaptive methods of digital processing of signals and adaptive algorithms in devices for intellectual switching of electrical equipment and automation of limiting the increase in voltage.
