The textbook "Fundamentals of Modern Phytotherapy" is intended for students in their 3rd to 6th year of medical school, studying the discipline of Pharmacology in the specialties of 31.05.01 General Medicine, 31.05.02 Pediatrics, 31.05.03 Dentistry, and 33.05.01 Pharmacy. The 2nd edition of the textbook contains revised and expanded information on the development of phytotherapy, its place in modern medicine, quality control, regulatory requirements for the development, production, and use of herbal medicinal raw materials and phytopreparations based on them. It describes the main active substances of plants that determine their healing properties, methods of preparing herbal medicinal forms, as well as indications, contraindications, and recommendations for their rational use in a wide range of common diseases. Seven new sections have been added on regulatory requirements and on phytotherapy in homeopathy to support practical classes in general phytotherapy. It includes control questions and tasks for each section. Pharmacology and practical application questions have been reviewed and expanded. The textbook may also be of interest to physicians, pharmacists, teachers, postgraduates, clinical residents, scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical workers, and a wide range of readers.
