The book offered to the attention of readers is devoted to issues relating to the history of the emergence and development of ciphers and codes, as well as the basics of cryptography, cryptoanalysis and cryptology. Particular attention is paid to the features of the use of codes and ciphers of various degrees of complexity that each person can apply in everyday life if necessary.
In the first chapter in a simple and accessible form, the meaning of the concepts "code" and "cipher", and also provides brief information about the main terms and definitions used when working with codes and ciphers. The second and third chapters briefly described the most significant and interesting events from the history of the emergence of various codes, as well as from the history of cryptography. Tips on the use of the most well-known codes are given in the fourth chapter. The sections of the fifth chapter of the proposed book are devoted to the practical application of simple ciphers in everyday life. Annexes are given some of the most commonly used human codes in various areas of human life. This is primarily the alphabet of Morse and the Alphabet of Braille, as well as a semaphore alphabet and a flag code. Moreover, not only Russians, but also international versions of these codes are given.
All chapters and sections are accompanied by explanatory figures and tables, due to which the perception and mastering of the outlined information occurs significantly more efficiently.
