Ekaterina Ivanovna Yakushkina is a Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, a Serbian language specialist, and a Serbian language teacher. Sanya Milichevich is a teacher at Banja Luka University (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina), a Russian language specialist, and a translator. Svetlana Sergeyevna Zimodro is a Serbian language teacher and a Serbian language specialist. This textbook is aimed at mastering the basic conversational and grammatical topics, the knowledge of which corresponds to the A1-B1 language proficiency level. The book contains 15 lessons, each of which is divided into several parts consisting of grammatical material, exercises, and a section on Serbian culture. In addition to the main text, the textbook includes two Appendices where one can find a more detailed explanation of the theoretical material and learn more about Serbian culture. One of the main features of this textbook is the presence of a large number of lexical and grammatical exercises that will help memorize new vocabulary, acquire conversational skills on a given topic, and thoroughly practice each grammatical form. Answer keys to the exercises are located at the end of the publication. Additionally, the textbook contains many relevant texts and dialogues written or edited by a native Serbian speaker, ensuring the natural sound of the texts and the presence of a large amount of modern vocabulary. Each text is accompanied by a glossary. Finally, four native Serbian speakers have recorded numerous texts and listening exercises. Several narrators' voices help to quickly get used to the different sounds of Serbian speech, develop listening comprehension of different people speaking Serbian. In the initial lessons, the narrators read slowly, gradually reaching a natural pace in subsequent lessons, ensuring a smooth transition into the language. The audio supplement is available for free.
