Memories of Vladimir Leonovich Talmi is a document of an era reflecting the drama of the 20th century. The history of the author"s life and his family is closely intertwined with all historical events of that time. He lived for a long time (1924-2012) and a sophisticated life. Vladimir Leonovich was born and died in America, but most of his life was held in the USSR, where heavy trials of the Stalinist era had fallen out. Parents, American Communists, in 1931 came to Soviet Russia in order to take part in the construction of a new life, choosing how it seemed to them, the best fate for her son. In the life of Vladimir Leonovich, the USSR had a school, institute, war: front, injury, hospital, then the work of the translator in the Office of the Economic Directorate of the Soviet military administration in Germany, and then prison and almost eight years (1947-1955) Stalinist camps.
Father (Leon Yakovlevich), held in the case of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, was shot in 1952. Mother (Sophia Abramovna) was sent to the settlement to Siberia.
