The book tells about the activities of front-line scouts of the Voronezh and Steppe fronts during the Battle of Kursk on the Belgorod direction. For the first time, over 300 biographies of military scouts of the Voronezh and Steppe fronts were published, along with declassified documents from the Ministry of Defense archives.
Fyodor Ivanovich Ladygin (1937 - 2021) was a Russian military leader. He was the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (1992-1997), holding the rank of Lieutenant General.
Igor Lavrentievich Burnusov is a retired colonel who served in the Armed Forces from 1957 to 1991 in the Belarusian, Siberian, Baltic, Moscow, Central Asian, and Turkestan military districts, as well as in the Central Group of Forces (Czechoslovakia). After retirement, he worked in the field of military intelligence education. He is a member of the Presidium of the Russian public organization 'Council of Military Intelligence Veterans'.
