General Alexander Dmitrievich Nechvolodov (1864-1938) is known to many as a historian, author of the fundamental work “The Tale of Russian Land”. Less is known that he was well versed in the economy and finances of his time. The book contains two main works on the topic of finance and gold: “From ruin to prosperity” (1906) and “Russian money” (1907) Both small work format are examples of a deep understanding of the secret mechanisms of the functioning of international finance and a simple, concise presentation of their essence. The works are explained by the deep causes of many political events in Europe of the XIX - XX centuries. And pre -revolutionary Russia, are of great interest for those who would like to understand what is happening in today"s world of gold and money.
