The history of Jewish secular poetry has more than a thousand years - from the era of the Spanish Golden Age to outstanding poets of the New Age. A brief anthology prepared by Hanoh Dashevsky included poems translated from Hebrew (Sephardic, Ashkenazi and modern) and Yiddish. Most of the works were not translated into Russian before, and a number of names presented in the book are unknown to the Russian -speaking reader. But also the poems of the classics - H.N. Byalika, Sh. Chernikhovsky, U.Ts. Greenberg - published in new translations. Peresa Peresa Marquisha “A Heap” was translated from Yiddish for the first time
