Andrey Bely was a thinker and poet, one of the most interesting and original writers of the Silver Age. His "captive spirit" amazed contemporaries with its "novelty, audacity, and sometimes flashes of true genius." They admired him, were surprised by him, and, as Vl. Khodasevich writes, even his enemies were a little in love with him. This edition is based on the author's collection of selected poems from 1923, a "novel in verse" that essentially became the culmination of Andrey Bely's poetic work. The poems are divided by the author into sections and internal cycles in such a way that the reader can see the "seed," the essence that defines the poet's spiritual image. "Everything I have written is a novel in verse: the content of the novel is my quest for truth, with its achievements and failures. Let the reader discover the content of the parts of my novel on their own. I give them the whole to understand what it represents - it is the reader's task."
