The last months of 2020... The coronavirus remained the same as it was. Both the population and the authorities have somewhat gotten used to the infection, and a vaccine has appeared. Thanks to the medical workers and the military leadership, who, as always, finish what others should have done. Well, there's Shoigu... Meanwhile, people in the country continue to die, and the best and brightest are among them. Interestingly, scoundrels continue to thrive without a care. Whether in the capital, provinces, or at the federal level. It doesn't matter if they are from the authorities or the opposition. Are they all under some kind of spell? In Ukraine, madness continues and grows. In Belarus, the struggle between protesters and Lukashenko has entered a chronic phase. Europe dances around Navalny, but also wants to complete the 'Nord Stream 2' pipeline. NATO is moving military equipment towards our borders and conducting maneuvers in the European Union on the topic of nuclear war. In America, there are presidential elections with manipulations to ensure Trump doesn't get a second term. This is how superpowers end. And, of course, as a gift from Turkey at the end of the year - a war in Karabakh. Regarding the Turkish vision of a Turkic world, there are big ambitions in the Turkish government about hegemony and the role of the elder brother. Russia, if you remember, fought for the Caucasus against Turkey and Iran. This mess has been brewing there for three hundred years, and now it's boiling over again. Such are the affairs...
Yevgeny Satanovsky continues to chronicle our coronavirus era. Pessimistic, tragic, sometimes horrifying. When everything is clear to everyone, but nothing can be done about it. Illusions have disappeared, hope for the future is diminishing, idiots reign in the world around us, and essentially, it's an 'interesting time' that the Chinese sages from ancient times advised to avoid if possible - and they knew what they were talking about.
