Modernity, the "era of Art Nouveau", is unthinkable without the fact that in the language of political theory it is called "practices of freedom". The assertion of freedom that took place in the West since the beginning of the New Age, as an ethical norm and political value, made a political thought an active participant in the discourse about freedom. Ethical and socio-political teachings involved in this discourse are analyzed in monographs through the prism of "practical logic" (P. Burdier) of human actions, found both at the level of specific situations and on the scale of epoch-making cultural and political transformations. The study of key historical moments is aimed at explicating the two important discourses of modernity for the freedom of discourse.
