Everything goes according to plan: the Fotoloft gallery begins to talk about its authors and show their work in its own magazine Fotoloft Portfolio. It took us exactly a year to form a pool of authors. We tried to collect the best working in various genres and techniques. Exactly the way it was planned: the Fotoloft gallery is conceived as an art fair, the festival of modern photography - and everything should be at the festival, and at the same time the best. One of the first in the gallery (then just built) appeared Irakli Shanidze. Just came (flew from America) and said: “Hello! I am Irakli. There is where to stick a flash drive? They stuck - and then laughed for two hours, surprised, looked at each other inquiringly. It was impossible to look at his work calmly: one look at any of them blew up emotions, and the author’s comments carried them into space. Since we are looking for work, which, in addition to technical impeccability and a pronounced author"s style, carry an emotional charge, there were no questions - Irakli Shanidze became the author of the gallery Fotoloft and a year later there was a answer to the question of whose photos should be presented in the first issue of Portfolio,
And just starting to prepare this number, I wondered which genre to cover what Shanidze does.
- I somehow told me that I am working in the style of postmodern,- he came to my aid. And they also said that I was a punk punk Lamura.
- Maybe, I say, let"s call your story a farce?
- Rather, Kich, - he does not agree.
We never agreed. And this is the answer to all questions. Did you want the brightest, not like anything, really unique? Got!
