The scientific monograph was prepared by the authorial team of the Department of Forensic Expertise at the O. E. Kutafin University (MGUA) - specialists in the field of theory and practice of forensic expertise, reflecting the genesis, current state, and prospects for the development of forensic expertology from the standpoint of a competency-based approach to the scientific school and expert practice of forensic expertise. In the collective monograph, each section dedicated to a type of expertise is written by a leading specialist (or specialists) developing this direction in the aspect of forensic expertology within the scientific school of the Department of Forensic Expertise, headed by Professor Rossinskaya Elena Rafailovna. The monograph discusses the history and objective prerequisites for the formation in the 80-90s of the last century of the theory of forensic expertise as an interdisciplinary theory. It is noted that the increasing role of specialized knowledge in legal proceedings, the development of the theory and practice of forensic expertise in the 21st century necessitate a rethinking of the concept of the theory of forensic expertise and elevate it to the level of a full-fledged science. The work proposes a new definition of the subject of forensic expertology, based on the fundamental regularities studied by this science, as well as a four-link system of science, including: general theory of forensic expertology, legal support for forensic expert activities, organizational support for forensic expert activities, forensic expert technologies. For students, graduate students, and university professors, as well as practical workers in expert, investigative, judicial bodies, and other legal professionals.
