Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Kalikinsky (b. 1951) is a prose writer, journalist, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, and the laureate of several journalism awards, including the A.P. Chekhov Prize. He lives and works in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
The series of books 'Agasfer' is a cycle of spy retro-detectives dedicated to the work of Russian counterintelligence at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

The Second World War is coming to an end. Japan surrenders and hands over all its weapons to the victors, including a collection of ancient swords symbolizing the empire's fighting spirit. An airplane carrying this rare item to an American cruiser makes an emergency landing on Sakhalin due to adverse weather conditions, where the pilots hide the valuable cargo. However, they are captured by a residual group of Japanese soldiers, and the trail of the collection is lost.
Many years pass, and the collection is sought after to be taken out of Russia. Unexpectedly, historian and writer Andrey Berg, a Japanese subject with Russian roots, gets involved in the game played by various sides.
