The book contains conversations and teachings of the Russian elders - from the Monk Nile Sorsky and Paisius Velichkovsky to our contemporaries: Archimandrite John (peasant) and Archpriest Nikolai Guryanov.
In the teachings of the Great Elders, not only the path to salvation is indicated, but also reflects the spiritual experience of the Russian people, church customs and traditions. For hundreds of years, faithful students carefully recorded and kept the teachings of their teachers. This was done with the hope that the words of the elders would not be lost, but they will be heard everywhere, always and at all times.
