MARILYN MANSON - a phenomenon that combines the yin and yang of American culture, - holds a special status in Russia as well. As a result - a huge influence on Russian rock music, and primarily on Russian rock poetry. In the decadence and mysticism-soaked Bronze Age of Russian poetry, Marilyn Manson acts as a sort of Baudelaire, an aesthetic idol and ideological beacon, just as the French classic was for poets of the Silver Age. Just like Baudelaire, Manson embraced the stigma of being a godfighter and servant of evil and, just like Baudelaire, was misunderstood by his contemporaries. Marilyn Manson's texts are not only "neo-Baudelairianism" but also remarkable examples of rock poetry: they are readable. This edition represents an attempt at a poetic translation of the rock poet's works at the level of a text corpus, corresponding to his complete discography and constituting new "Flowers of Evil".
