"Pack" is a book about the complex relationships between the adult society (politicians, lawyers, law enforcement officers, etc.) and the creative generation of young people who do not want to live by the laws of faceless state morality.
Nineteen-year-old student of the University of Economics, Agatii Severtsev, becomes involved in a student unrest in the Siberian science town of Abakym. Called in to suppress the disorder, the city's riot police show unjustified cruelty towards the rebellious students. Agatii flees the city. The Lord leads him to a male monastery located in the vicinity of Abakym. The young man confesses the university's troubles to the monastery's elder, Savvatiy. The old monk's heart is inflamed with compassion for the struggles of the young man and his peers. He plans a journey to Moscow, intending to inform the President about the flaws in the relationship between the state and the youth. With the blessing of the monastery's abbot, the elder sets off on a distant journey. In his interactions with Russian reality, the spiritual strength of the Siberian monk is revealed. A world dominated by falsehood responds to Savvatiy's reflections on God, good and evil, nobility, and personal sacrifice.

The goal of the book is to help young people be heard by their own state, and for the state to return to the concept of "national unity."
