Flights of imagination. Mind and evolution against gravity.

Flight, the element of air - a dream and a goal that has mesmerized humans for millennia. Earthly gravity - a harsh reality that opposes this dream and is inevitably taken into account by nature. Evolution approached flight rationally: if flying is necessary for the survival of the species, the means for it will inevitably appear, even if it takes millions of years. Humans, in turn, have come up with many ways to take to the air and travel long distances: from the wings of the mythological Icarus to the airplane, a long way has been traveled thanks to the fact that there have always been people capable of soaring high in their imagination, even while remaining on the ground. It is they who accumulate knowledge, discover new things, and lead the way: "Perhaps the same urge for adventure that swept the Polynesians, discovering new islands, lives today in the 'call of space' that drives representatives of our species to colonize Mars - and, perhaps, in the distant future, to reach the stars?"
