The book sets out the history of the development of north-European-type knives on the territory of the Scandinavian countries and the North-West part of Russia of the XIX-XX centuries.
The evolution of Scandinavian-type knives is considered, their qualifications and features of manufacture are presented, the main historical production centers and the names of the most famous masters are presented. The features of Scandinavian and, in particular, the Finnish influence on the development of the Russian knife tradition, is given a description of the general change in the perception of the Finnish type knife (the so-called "Finki") Russian society and law enforcement agencies during the 20th century.
The book is designed both on specialists and collectors and on a wide range of readers interested in this topic.
