Among the technical innovations that radically changed a person’s life in the twentieth century, the TV occupies an honorable and almost first place. Of course, such a large invention cannot be created from beginning to end by one person. But one of the creators of television is Vladimir Kozmich Zvorykin (1888-1982), our great compatriot, deserves special reverence for the descendants - it is thanks to his genius that the TV looks exactly as we are used to, and the television technique develops on the principles laid down by him. It is all the more curious that the name of Zvorykin is almost unknown to most viewers - not to mention his biography. The proposed book is designed to some extent to eliminate this contradiction.
Vladimir Zvorykin lived a long life. His youth, held in Russia, fell on the fatal years of the world war and revolutions and was accompanied by so many dangerous adventures that the safe and secured life in America seemed to be a well -deserved retribution. But for many years of life, the ocean also passed for Vladimir Kozmich violently - in an incessant creative search and a fierce struggle with competitors. In this struggle, color television, fax, scanner, night vision devices, electron microscope and much more were created, without which electronic technique is unthinkable
