The communist and aristocrat Lukino Visconti at the beginning of his career became one of the ideologists of neorealism, and later went far beyond this direction. The film critic and film expert Andrei Plakhov talks about Visconti, not only as a paradoxical director, but also as a myth -making - a “leopard” of world culture in the era of its sunset. At the same time, the book about Visconti, who, back in his student years, became the author’s favorite director is an extremely personal statement: Plakhov addresses the texts of his teacher, one of the leading film critics of the 1960s, Vasilyevna Shitova.
