The filmography of Lindsey Anderson (1923-1994) has only five full -length game paintings - which does not prevent him from remaining one of the most noticeable British filmmakers. A passionate cinema lover and an influential critic, in the mid -1950s, Anderson became the inspirer of the Free Cinema movement, which opposed both aesthetically and ideologically - the kininsthemum of his time. "Free Cinema" has become a vivid phenomenon in the cultural life of Britain, serving as the forerunner of the "New Wave", among the most famous films of which was the Anderson"s film “This Sports Life” (1963).
Being a press to the angry ", Anderson, like no other from his generation of directors, justified this characteristic. His unwillingness to compromise and the acute criticism of judgments significantly complicated his fate in the cinema, so he devoted the most part of his time to theatrical directing. His main cinematographic work was the absurd-satiric "trilogy" of the films if ... "(1968)," Oh, lucky! " (1973) and "Hospital" Britain "" (1982), the first of which was awarded the Golden Palm branch at the Cannes Film Festival.
The collection includes selected articles and an interview with Anderson, invariably emotional and polemic.
