Hello! This is Shia. There should be a beautiful text about my new book, but instead I decided to answer the questions that you most likely appear.
1. What kind of book is this?
This is a book about cinema, that"s what it is. I wrote it because I love the movie, because it had great importance for me since childhood. And, probably, it will be an important part of my life until death. Or until they stop shooting new parts of the "Furious". Curious, what will happen before?
2. How to read this book?
Very simple. It has thirty chapters, each - some kind of question about the cinema that you need to answer. Sometimes these are very stupid questions, and sometimes very serious. But I answer them (I hope that so) with great attention and respect. Read it as you want. It is not necessary, say, to read chapter 13 (about blockbusters) to understand the meaning of Chapter 14 (about the film "Selena") Oh, and yet: there are a lot of drawings in the book. I like illustrations because they give complete everything and help to transfer the reader to the situation in which I myself was when I wrote. There is, for example, a chapter written in the form of a press conference, which is conducted by Mike Mayers, the star of the Halloween franchise. It is stupid, of course, but there is a Mike"s drawing behind a stand in front of a crowd of journalists, and when you look at him, you are transferred to that situation, and it begins to seem that this is not a fictitious situation, but a real case.
3. Have you adhered to some rules when you wrote this book?
Perhaps the only rule that I adhered to is not to spend too much time and energy on talking about films that were released until the 1980s. I just focused on the films that I like. Some of them are the times of the 1980s, and all the rest were removed already in the 1990s, 2000s or even the 2010s.
