Filmmakers in the modern world

In recent decades, the situation with the gender inequality in the world film industry has seriously changed: women are increasingly mastering various film professional, including great successes, including in the directorial field. In the focus of the attention of critics and researchers, the women"s cinema of Europe and America remains mainly, although in Russia you can observe similar gender shifts. The book of Kinoveda Angelica Artyukh is the first work on modern Russian filmmakers. In it, she summarizes her “field research”, analyzing the impressions of Russian women"s cinema, talking with its creators and showing what difficulties they have to face. At the same time, the author does not leave the foreign film process. The heroines of this book are Katherine Bigelou, Sofia Coppola, Renata Litvinova, Valeria Gai Germanica, Oksana Bychkova, Anna Melikyan, Natalya Meshchaninova and other talented women creating films here and now.
