The sensational fighting club of the American writer Chuck Palanik began as a short story, which ultimately became the sixth head of a strong cult work, published at the end of the twentieth century. Roman made the effect of an exploding bomb. The cynical text was instantly pulled out to quotes, and three years later the film of the same name was released on the screens, still listed among the best paintings that caused great public resonance.
Literary critics interpret the theme of the novel differently: here are nihilism, religious motives, and the games of the mind, and criticism of the consumption society, and the history of romantic relations. But as the author himself claims, his hero is just a lonely person, looking for ways to get closer to others, to be understood, accepted and loved. The book presents an abbreviated and adapted text of the Intermediate level
