The 1st volume is based on a correspondence between Lily Yuryevna and Osip Maksimovich Brik (only 289 letters and telegrams) of 1930–1937, when Lilya Yuryevna, after the death of Vladimir Mayakovsky, was married to the hero of the civil war, the legendary commander of the Chervon Cossacks, Vitaly Markovich Primakov (1896–1937), and traveled with him to the cities where he served: Sverdlovsk, Rostov-on-Don, Berlin, Leningrad. The publication uses unique materials from state and private archives, from rare publications.
