The book tells about our outstanding military leader, Field Marshal Pyotr Alexandrovich Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky - the victor over Frederick the Great, the scourge of the Ottomans (Turks). In the 1770s, he was perhaps the best military leader in the world. This is what Suvorov said, and other contemporary generals recognized it. Russian history did not treat him very kindly. In Soviet times, when in his famous speech in November 1941, I. Stalin mentioned Alexander Nevsky, Suvorov, and Kutuzov, thereby giving the green light for their popularization, Rumyantsev was unfortunately not mentioned. Why unfortunately? Not only because this outstanding Russian military leader and military figure truly deserves glorification, but primarily because his indomitable and unstoppable spirit of victory is very much needed by us right now.
Let this book make its small but significant contribution to the noble cause of glorifying Pyotr Alexandrovich Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky, to the cause of returning to us today his indomitable spirit of victory: "Let the thunder of victory resound!"
The book is intended for study in schools as part of patriotic and moral education, for mastering the history course, and for home reading.
