One February day, the witch Kokiri and her husband Okino had a lovely daughter Kiki. Then, of course, she did not even suspect that in the future she would go to the Primorsky town of Corico, open the delivery service and would help with her magic to many people. Little Kiki was much more occupied by school lessons, bright dresses and eternal rivalry with his cat Jiji, who even in those days considered himself very reasonable. But, like any kitten, Dziji loved to play ashand and more than once committed different nonsense. How did it happen that these fidgets became a witch and a Witches cat?
Aiko Kadono wrote her first stories about Kiki in 1985. Inspired by the success and numerous literary awards of Japan, she continued the story of a young witch - to the joy of fans, among whom was the Great Hayao Miyazaki, who created his animated masterpiece of 1989 on the basis of Kadono"s books. And in 2014, a full -length feature film was released. In 2018, Aiko Kadono received the Hans of Christian Andersen as the best children"s writer
