G.J. Wells (1866-1946) - English writer and publicist, classic of science fiction. The novel “Time Machine” tells about the journey of the inventor of the time machine to the future. The basis of the plot is the fascinating adventures of the protagonist in a world, which is 800 thousand years later, describing which the author proceeded from the negative trends in the development of the modern capitalist society, which allowed many critics to call the book a novel-preservation. In addition, the novel first describes many ideas related to time travel, which will not lose their attractiveness for readers and authors of new works for a long time.
The second novel, which included in this volume, is “The struggle of Miron”. By the end of the 19th century, most astronomers of the whole Earth were inclined to the opinion that there were nothing more than primitive life forms on Mars. But once bright flashes began to occur on Mars, and flows of fire rushed to the ground, which were nothing more than cosmic capsules aimed at the territory of Britain.
