Anatol France (1844-1924) - French writer, literary critic and public figure, Nobel laureate in literature (1921) for the brilliant literary achievements, marked by the sophistication of style, deeply suffered by humanism and truly Gallic temperament. "Angel uprising" is a fantastic novel published in 1914. The plot is built around the adventures of both ordinary inhabitants of Paris in the beginning of the twentieth century, and angels who conceive a revolution in heaven. The adventures of angels in Paris of the times of the Third Republic are used by the author for strict social criticism, directed primarily against the church and militarism. In this novel, the writer anticipated the beginning of the greatest social cataclysms and timed up the apocalyptic drama in the seemingly ordinary earthly year
