Most of all, the name Harvey Kurtsman is associated with the famous American satirical magazine MAD. However, few people know that in the early 1950s, Harvi Kurtzman went down in the history of modern comics in the status of a classic of military comics.
Historically accurate, well-worked out military stories were published in two magazines: Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat. In Kurtsman stories, horror and madness played the main role that they reign in any war.
“The corpse in Imjin” contains not only 11 Kurtzman stories, but also a couple of dozen other, classic stories that were created in collaboration with such classics as Alex Toy, Gene Kolan, Dave Berg, Rick Estrada And John Severin. As well as the full portfolio of all covers behind the authorship of Kurtsman.
At the same time, this book contains essays and notes on the life and work of both Kurtsman himself and the history of the EC Comics publishing house, whose works continue to remain amazingly modern even today, 70 years after the creation
